Parquetry Floors

Parquet refers to smaller bocks of timber installed to create an interesting pattern.

Parquetry flooring can be installed with simple through to quite complex patterns.

The most common type of parquetry block is 260x65mm in dimension. The 4 to 1 ratio of this bock size is ideal for creating patterns such as;

- square block
- herring bone or double herring bone
- bascket weave
- brick block

Mosiac parquetry (sometimes known as finger parquetry) is a less expensive product that is installed in a square block fashion generally with each bock containing 5 to 6 fingers of timber. This is a very good option for larger areas such as dance foors or community centres.

At the more complex end of parquetry patterns are intricate designs that originate in Europe. These designs tend to be installed using oak timbers that are carefully cut to extacting sizes to meet the requirements of the pattern. Designs that fit int this category include;

- chevron
- versaille
- monitcello
- chantilly

The opportunities for parquetry flooring are endless. Bosch Timber Floors was proud to win the ATFA commercial floor of the year (2014) with an inticate parquetry floor that was created and installed by one of our preferred installers Rick Pagnacco of Wicked Wood Floors.

If you have a special project that needs a touch of flair Bosch Timber Floors are well placed to help with customised parquetry floors
